Veracruz adds 107 new officers to community policing forces

Veracruz has added 107 new personnel to its community policing forces following the completion of an initial training course. The graduates include 49 officers in state and municipal modalities—comprising 37 state and 12 municipal officers from Córdoba, Coatzacoalcos, and Minatitlán—and 54 officers in the equivalent modality, consisting of 24 state and 34 municipal officers.

Alfonso Reyes Garcés, head of Public Security, emphasized that the expansion of the force and the professionalization of security institutions are key priorities for the state government. He noted that the strategy involves coordinated efforts between federal, state, and municipal institutions to improve training, labor conditions, and economic stability for security personnel.
