Veracruz authorities launch extensive raids, arrests and fuel seizure operations

From 15 to 23 June, the Veracruz State Attorney General's Office coordinated large‑scale law‑enforcement actions across the state. Thirty‑three judicially authorised raids in 23 municipalities led to the detention of 32 people suspected of organized crime, with weapons, ammunition and other illicit items seized.

A separate investigation during the same period resulted in 151 suspects being formally linked to criminal processes for offences ranging from homicide and extortion to drug trafficking and violence against public officials. Among those named was Eleazar “N”, accused of generating violence in the Zongolica area.

The Federal Attorney General (FGR) also secured a two‑year prison sentence and a fine for Lázro “N”, arrested in Alvarado for possession of an unlicensed rifle and ammunition.

In the port city of Veracruz, federal agents, together with the National Guard, the Army, the Navy and state police, executed a search operation that uncovered more than 3,500 litres of liquefied petroleum gas and detained one individual on suspicion of illegal fuel storage and sale.

All operations were carried out in coordination among the State Attorney General, the Federal Prosecutor’s Office, the National Guard, the Army, the Navy, the State Police and municipal authorities, underscoring a concerted effort to curb crime and illicit trafficking in the state.
