Veracruz authorities investigate fatal shooting of dog

Authorities in Veracruz are investigating the death of Káiser, a one-and-a-half-year-old German Shepherd that was killed by a gunshot in the Las Bajadas neighborhood. Neighbors reported hearing a shot on Wednesday morning near the railroad tracks, after which the animal was found with a wound to its right side.

The owner intends to file a formal complaint with the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Environmental and Animal Crimes (FEDAYCA). Local councilwoman Adriana Muñoz Cabrera emphasized that the animal was known to be peaceful and playful, stating that such acts of cruelty must not go unpunished under state law.
