Mexico’s Veracruz starts scholarship payouts as Peru opens new slots

In Veracruz, Mexico, the state began disbursing payments for the Benito Juárez and Jóvenes Escribiendo el Futuro scholarship programs on June 15, covering the May‑June bimester. Payments range from 1,900 pesos for basic‑education and medium‑high‑school recipients to 5,800 pesos for higher‑education participants. The rollout follows a schedule based on the first letter of beneficiaries’ surnames and aims to avoid strain on Bank of Welfare branches. The total allocation is about 1.7 billion pesos and benefits over 900,000 students.

Meanwhile, Peru’s National Scholarship and Educational Credit Program (Pronabec) opened the second round of applications for the 2026 Beca Perú on June 15, offering more than 200 scholarships for higher‑education studies. Applications are free, online until July 8, and are open to any Peruvian who has completed secondary school and holds an admission letter from a participating private institution. The public‑private partnership program has already assisted over 2,900 beneficiaries.
