Veracruz city center experiences wave of business closures

Multiple businesses have closed across the historic commercial center of Veracruz, particularly along Independencia and 5 de Mayo avenues. The closures affect a wide variety of sectors, including clothing, electronics, pharmacies, and food services.

On Independencia Avenue, recent closures include an intimate apparel store and several shops specializing in Asian products. Long-term vacancies are also noted, such as a former chain pharmacy that has remained unoccupied for approximately three years.

On 5 de Mayo Avenue, the trend continues with the closure of a bakery, an appliance store, a bicycle repair center, and another shop selling Chinese merchandise. These vacant spaces have largely failed to attract new tenants, contributing to a visible decline in commercial activity in the area.
