Veracruz community holds funeral for man killed in police patrol collision

Residents, friends, and family in Álamo held a funeral for Pedro Mata Durán following a fatal collision involving a vehicle he was driving and a Veracruz State Police patrol. The accident occurred on the highway to Potrero del Llano last Saturday.

The incident sparked significant local unrest, including street blockades and the burning of an official vehicle. During the funeral procession, community members expressed grief and demanded a thorough investigation to establish responsibility.

Omar Pérez Hernández, the family's legal representative, stated they will request a comprehensive review of the investigation file, emphasizing the need to examine video footage and the specific conditions of both vehicles involved.
