Guillermina N sentenced to 26 years for femicide in Veracruz

The Veracruz State Attorney General secured a 26‑year prison sentence for Guillermina “N” after she was convicted of femicide. The court found that in August 2015 she entered a home in the Ferrer Guardia neighborhood of Xalapa, killed a woman, and stole the victim’s mobile phone to sell it. The judgment also suspended Guillermina’s civil and political rights. Authorities emphasized their commitment to combat violence against women and to enforce strong penalties for such crimes. The victim’s identity remains legally protected.
