Veracruz government rehabilitates 25.7 km of Atzalan–Perote highway
The Veracruz government has completed the rehabilitation of a 25.7-kilometer stretch of the Federal 131 highway, specifically the Atzalan–Perote section. The project involved an investment of 108 million pesos and addressed long-standing demands from local populations and productive sectors in Perote, Atzalan, Altotonga, Jalacingo, and Villa Aldama.
Governor Rocío Nahle García led the official delivery of the works, which were carried out over a nine-month period. The technical interventions included pavement recovery, base shaping, milling, and the replacement of asphalt layers, as well as deep and superficial pothole repairs. Additionally, the project included drainage infrastructure improvements, such as cleaning culverts and constructing ditches, and concluded with the installation of horizontal signage.
The rehabilitated route is of particular importance as it serves as part of the path for the 39th edition of the Carrera Panamericana, scheduled to pass through the Veracruz territory on October 17.
