Veracruz Governor inaugurates two new dairy collection centers

Veracruz Governor Rocío Nahle García has inaugurated two new milk collection centers in Jesús Carranza and Las Choapas to support local dairy producers. These facilities, which include laboratory and cooling systems, bring the state's total to 12 centers under the ‘Leche para el Bienestar’ program.

To assist with logistics, the government provided two 10,000-liter capacity tankers equipped with food-grade stainless steel tanks. The program offers a guaranteed price of 11.50 pesos per liter. The Jesús Carranza center has resumed operations, while the Las Choapas facility is expected to begin activities in January, benefiting over 1,000 families.

In addition to infrastructure, the initiative includes animal health measures, such as the distribution of 1,000 sanitary kits to combat screwworm. A zoosanitary sweep has already reached approximately 300,000 head of cattle. The Governor also expressed commitment to evaluating the construction of a pasteurization plant in Miahuatlán to further support the local dairy basin.
