Veracruz Governor Rocío Nahle seeks Pemex Tower transfer

Veracruz Governor Rocío Nahle announced she will formally request Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) to hand over the Pemex Tower located in the port of Veracruz. The building, owned by Pemex and currently under a concession to the National Water Commission (Conagua), is unused and deteriorating. Nahle instructed Secretary of Government Ricardo Ahued to prepare an official request to Pemex and the Presidency, stating that the state will take responsibility if the Navy does not assume the project.

The proposed rehabilitation plan envisions a museum on the lower levels and government offices in the upper floors, aiming to restore the historic structure for public use. Nahle emphasized, "I will not let the Tower of Pemex continue deteriorating," and added that if the Navy decides to keep the tower, the state will support that decision.
