Veracruz hospitals face air conditioning and infrastructure issues

Veracruz Governor Rocío Nahle García has identified malfunctioning air conditioning systems as a primary deficiency in state hospitals following recent supervisory inspections. In facilities such as those in Río Blanco and Córdoba, specialists have been dispatched to conduct technical evaluations of integral climate control systems, which require precise power measurements and technical calculations before repairs can be finalized.

For medical units utilizing minisplit units, local municipal governments have offered to assist by providing and installing new equipment. The inspections also highlighted significant infrastructure challenges due to the age of several medical facilities. Notably, the Pánuco hospital, which dates back to 1923, was cited as one of the oldest buildings in the country, reflecting the broader need for structural updates across the state's healthcare network.
