Veracruz hosts major swimming and fishing competitions

Several major sporting events are taking place in Veracruz, Mexico. The ninth edition of the Copa Jarocha de Natación is scheduled for October 16–18, 2026, at the Centro Acuático de Leyes de Reforma in Boca del Río. Organized by Club Pirañas with support from the Instituto Veracruzano del Deporte, the competition features various age categories and offers cash incentives for top-performing teams.

Additionally, the Marlin GulfMarine 2026 tournament has officially commenced with a welcome meal at Marina Veramar. Led by president Gregorio Chedraui Bolado, the event features over 45 vessels competing for a total prize pool exceeding 625,000 pesos. The fishing competition is set to take place on August 28 and 29, 2026, supported by various maritime and local government institutions.
