Veracruz announces new student scholarships and health service registration

Local authorities in Veracruz, Mexico, have announced new social program updates regarding education and healthcare.

Mayor Rosa María Hernández Espejo announced the pre-registration period for the ‘Joven Héroe Veracruzano Iván Gómez Gómez’ municipal scholarship, running from September 28 to 30. The program aims to support approximately 20,000 university students from public institutions with a quarterly economic aid of 900 pesos. Registration will be conducted digitally and organized by academic institution.

Simultaneously, the Universal Health Service is continuing its credentialing process in the Veracruz-Boca del Río conurbation. Ky Chincoya Durán, a welfare delegate, stated that the process is open to all individuals who provide a valid voter ID (INE) and a certified CURP. The initiative aims to provide free access to three levels of medical care, integrating those without existing coverage into the IMSS-Bienestar system.
