Veracruz locates iconic Los Jarochos fountain after years missing

The iconic Los Jarochos fountain, which previously adorned the Plaza de la República in the port of Veracruz, has been located in a municipal warehouse belonging to the Veracruz City Council's Public Spaces department.

The sculptural ensemble had been missing from the urban landscape for several years without official information regarding its whereabouts. Local authorities, including councilwoman Paty Huesca, confirmed the discovery and stated that the administration is currently evaluating the most suitable location for its permanent reinstallation.

The fountain features figures representing the essence of Veracruz, including a central fisherman, a child holding a mother's hand, and a couple in traditional regional attire. The artwork will undergo restoration before being returned to a public space.
