Veracruz municipal administrations roll out new public works and debt‑relief program

In Xalapa, Veracruz, the municipal government led by Mayor Daniela Griego Ceballos inaugurated three completed public‑works projects and launched a fourth, bringing the total to 13 works completed this year. The newly finished projects include the paving and lighting of Calle Maya (1.3 million pesos, 600 sqm, three luminarias, finished in 68 days), paving of Calle Fernando Z. Mercado (about 2 million pesos, six metres of road, added sidewalks and ramps for accessibility, completed in 60 days) and the start of work on Calle Transversal (budgeted at 2.3 million pesos from the FORTAMUN fund). The administration also restored the Balcones park with new pavement, a containment wall, fencing and refurbished playground equipment.

In San Andrés Tuxtla, Veracruz, municipal president Rafa Fararoni Magaña presented debt‑cancellation certificates to agricultural producers under the federal “Volver a Crecer” program. The initiative, overseen by the National Agricultural Development Finance Fund (FNDL) and the Instituto Nacional para Devolverle al Pueblo lo Robado (INDEP), cleared long‑standing debts for the beneficiaries, reflecting the social‑justice agenda promoted by the state governor Rocío Nahle, the federal program led by architect Mónica Fernández Balboa, and President‑elect Claudia Sheinbaum.
