Veracruz Municipal Leaders Launch Clean Beach and Neighborhood Improvement Programs
Alvarado mayor Beto Cobos joined officials from Veracruz, Boca del Río and federal agencies to create a “Clean and Safe Beaches” committee aimed at preparing the regional coastline for the summer tourist season starting 15 July. The coordination includes the national port authority, environmental, consumer and health regulators, as well as civil protection and tourism officials.
In Poza Rica, municipal president Adanely Rodríguez led a joint brigade with the newly formed Florida neighborhood citizens’ committee. Workers from public services, sports, ecology, civil protection, youth, roadways, public works and social participation carried out cleaning, debris removal, tree planting, sports‑field repairs and drainage upgrades, enhancing the local urban area through direct community participation.
