Veracruz Nurse Reappears After Being Reported Missing

José Daniel Caballero, a nurse from Veracruz, was reported missing in late May and a search warrant was issued by the state's prosecutor. He resurfaced alive in Mexico City, explaining that he lost contact with his family after his phone line was suspended and his mobile phone was stolen on the Metro. During his time away, Caballero worked washing cars and briefly in a hotel before returning to private nursing work in the capital. He said he never knew a search warrant existed against him and has asked authorities to cancel the notice.

The case was made public after his wife reported losing contact with him on May 24, prompting the Veracruz prosecutor's action.
