Veracruz pension institute urged to strengthen independent resources
Jesús Arenzano Mendoza, president of the Unión Democrática de Jubilados y Pensionados de Veracruz (UDEJUPEV) in the Orizaba-Córdoba region, has called for the strengthening of the Instituto de Pensiones del Estado (IPE) through the generation of its own resources.
While the Federal Contributions Fund for the Strengthening of Federative Entities (FAFEF) has been used to support the pension system and cover operational costs, Mendoza noted that the institute faces ongoing financial pressure. He emphasized that the IPE is a decentralized public organism with financial autonomy and suggested that increasing its own income by leveraging assets, such as buildings and hotels, could reduce its dependence on external resources and the Veracruz government.
