Veracruz political tensions rise amid persecution claims and Morena mobilization

The political climate in Veracruz is intensifying as the state prepares for upcoming electoral processes. Dante Delgado Rannauro, founder of Movimiento Ciudadano, has accused Morena governments in various states of implementing a “systematic pattern of political persecution, misuse of justice, and electoral manipulation.” He specifically identified Veracruz as a primary example, alleging that state institutions are being used to intimidate critics and pressure municipal officials to switch parties.

In response to the shifting political landscape, Morena is strengthening its local structures in Veracruz. The party held an assembly of territorial organization committees to reinforce its presence in communities and increase its capacity for public debate. The party's strategy emphasizes territorial work, unity behind leaders Claudia Sheinbaum and Rocío Nahle, and an increased focus on digital communication to combat perceived disinformation on social media platforms.
