Veracruz prosecutors report 40 judicial resolutions and arrest suspect in feminicide case

The Prosecutor's Office of the State of Veracruz reported significant judicial activity within a 24-hour period, securing 17 sentences and 23 legal proceedings against suspects for various crimes, including homicide and fraud. Attorney General Lisbeth Aurelia Jiménez Aguirre detailed these results during a security coordination meeting led by Governor Rocío Nahle García.

In a coordinated effort between the Veracruz and Oaxaca state prosecutors, authorities arrested a man identified as S. A. L. for his alleged involvement in an aggravated kidnapping and feminicide case in the Cuenca region. Investigations revealed that the suspect, who had a prior relationship with the victim, was involved in a scheme to surveil and deprive the victim of her liberty in June 2021. The victim was later found deceased in San Juan Bautista Tuxtepec due to injuries from a sharp object. Following his arrest in Veracruz, the suspect is being transferred to Oaxaca to face charges.
