Veracruz recovers iconic bronze sculptures from warehouse

The municipal government of Veracruz, led by Mayor Rosa María Hernández Espejo, has recovered iconic bronze sculptures located in a warehouse within the Parque Ecológico. Specialists are currently evaluating the physical condition of the pieces titled ‘Los Pescadores’ and ‘La Pareja de Jarochos’ to determine necessary maintenance.

Following the technical analysis, the City Council plans to invite citizens to propose locations for the reinstallation of these works. The Department of Public Spaces is also managing the conservation of other local monuments, including the statue of Benny Moré and the Monument to Cuauhtémoc, which has suffered from bronze theft. To date, the administration has intervened in 18 statues and expanded the municipal inventory to include 43 pieces in the Historic Center and surrounding areas.
