Puebla and Veracruz strengthen security coordination in border municipalities

The state governments of Puebla and Veracruz held their Second Security Coordination Meeting in Xalapa to strengthen cooperation and combat crime. The meeting focused on improving information exchange and implementing joint strategies to address security in the border regions between the two states.

Authorities highlighted that the coordination efforts specifically target 33 municipalities that share borders between Puebla and Veracruz. The goal is to prevent criminal groups from utilizing these territorial boundaries to move undetected or evade justice.

Participants included representatives from the General Prosecutor's Offices of both states, as well as federal institutions such as the National Guard and the military. The initiative follows an existing security coordination agreement and aligns with national peace-building strategies.
