Veracruz reports infrastructure issues and real estate fraud concerns

In Veracruz, various regional issues are emerging. In Xalapa, meat vendors report high demand for pork products as families prepare traditional pozole for Mexican Independence Day celebrations, with prices remaining stable.

In the city of Veracruz, an official report indicates that at least 70 neighborhoods are facing urban infrastructure issues, including sinkholes, subsidence, and water leaks. Out of 646 reported incidents, 293 went unaddressed by the concessionaire Grupo MAS. These deficiencies pose risks to pedestrians and motorists and contribute to road deterioration.

Additionally, legal tensions persist regarding a suspected ‘Real Estate Cartel’. Following arrests by the State Attorney General's Office, a federal judge granted an injunction to alleged leader Roly Domínguez Romero. This decision, which included a low bail amount, has sparked protests from victims who claim the ruling undermines justice and threatens their assets.
