Veracruz security raids seize hundreds of drug doses and arrest dozens
Security forces in the Mexican state of Veracruz carried out coordinated raids across 21 municipalities, detaining 35 people and freeing two victims. The operations, involving the State Public Security Secretariat, Navy, Army, National Guard and the State Attorney General's Office, also rescued a person in Coatzintla who was believed to have been illegally detained and responded to a virtual kidnapping case in Martínez de la Torre.
Authorities seized a total of 427 doses of suspected drugs, including crystal, marijuana and assorted quantities, and confiscated weapons, replica firearms, motorcycles, cars and a truck. Additional arrests were made during searches in Misantla, Córdoba, Xalapa, Banderilla, Perote, Veracruz and Las Choapas, where 14 more people were detained and further drug and weapon caches were recovered. The detainees, vehicles and seized items have been handed over to the relevant ministries for further investigation.
