Veracruz to develop digital system for hospital supply optimization
Veracruz Governor Rocío Nahle García has announced the development of a state computer system designed to optimize the supply of medicines and medical supplies in hospitals. This new tool will connect to the Institutional Supply System (SACIA) of IMSS Bienestar, allowing medical units to monitor stock levels, identify shortages or surpluses, and facilitate the redistribution of supplies between hospitals based on real-time needs.
The strategy aims to improve inventory controls, manage expiration dates, and implement return or exchange mechanisms with suppliers to prevent product waste.
Additionally, the state will reorganize hospital food services. The current subcontracted model will be replaced by a state-operated model through LIMPIAVER, which will manage personnel hiring and service provision. This transition includes kitchen upgrades, the involvement of nutritionists in menu planning, and the direct purchase of fresh products from local markets.
