Veracruz to increase agricultural budget and support producers
Veracruz Governor Rocío Nahle García has launched the 2026 Autumn-Winter maize planting cycle in Jesús Carranza. The initiative included the distribution of 3,000 bags of improved hybrid seeds to cover 3,000 hectares, benefiting producers in Jesús Carranza, Hidalgotitlán, Uxpanapa, Jáltipan, and San Juan Evangelista.
Additionally, 21,600 high-yield Spring variety oil palm plants were distributed to 202 hectares, supporting 3,000 producers across several municipalities, including Acayucan, Minatitlán, and San Andrés Tuxtla. To boost productivity, international specialist Ernesto Cruz González will provide technical agricultural training to local families, starting in Piedras Negras.
Governor Nahle announced that the state budget for agriculture, fishing, and livestock will increase in 2027. She also committed to constructing a maize collection center in Jesús Carranza to support local production. In a separate announcement regarding education, she stated that a state program will begin in January 2027 to enroll preschool children who were unable to register during the September period.
