Veracruz to install statue honoring singer Yuri

Veracruz Governor Rocío Nahle García has confirmed that a statue honoring the singer Yuri will be installed on the Manuel Ávila Camacho boulevard. The project received support from the Veracruz City Council following a request from the artist's fan club.

The monument is planned for the corner of Washington Street and Manuel Ávila Camacho boulevard. The tribute aims to recognize Yuri's 50-year musical career and her continuous promotion of Veracruz. Nahle emphasized the importance of honoring prominent figures during their lifetime and noted that the project also serves as a recognition of women's roles in society.

Regarding funding, the singer's fan club has proposed to raise the necessary resources for the creation of the sculpture, requesting only the permit from the City Council for its installation. The selection of the sculptor is currently ongoing.
