Veracruz Welfare delegate calls for resignations to protect social programs

Juan Javier Gómez Cazarín, the Welfare delegate in Veracruz, has called on public officials intending to run for elective office to resign from their current positions. This measure aims to prevent social programs from being used for political purposes.

Gómez Cazarín emphasized during a working tour of the state's central zone that social support must remain independent of partisan or electoral interests. He stated, “If they have the intention of occupying a public or political office, then let them resign. Here in Bienestar, we do not want programs to be used for political purposes.”

As part of his regional tour, the official reported the distribution of benefit cards to elderly citizens and people with disabilities, including 756 cards in Córdoba and approximately 800 in Orizaba. Additionally, he mentioned efforts to manage the installation of a Banco del Bienestar branch in Orizaba to facilitate financial access for beneficiaries.
