Verascient raises $1.2m for enterprise AI memory infrastructure
Cape Town-based startup Verascient has secured $1.2 million in an oversubscribed pre-seed funding round. The company is developing infrastructure designed to provide AI agents with access to an organization’s accumulated context and institutional knowledge.
Verascient pivoted from its original product, an AI hallucination detector, after determining that large language models are increasingly reducing hallucination rates. Its new platform utilizes a temporal knowledge graph to capture information history, access permissions, and provenance. The technology aims to serve sectors such as financial services, insurance, and logistics by integrating with existing business systems to make scattered data securely available to AI agents.
