Verastem Oncology reports VS-7375 efficacy in KRAS G12D tumor trials

Verastem Oncology has reported clinical results from its phase 1/2 TARGET-D 101 trial regarding VS-7375, an investigational oral KRAS G12D inhibitor. The drug demonstrated antitumor activity in patients with metastatic pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), metastatic colorectal cancer (CRC), and advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

In the pancreatic cancer cohort, patients receiving a 900 mg daily dose showed a confirmed objective response rate (ORR) of 50% in the second-line setting. For patients in the second-line and later setting, the ORR was 41%, with a disease control rate of 86%. The 6-month landmark progression-free survival and overall survival rates were 67% and 80%, respectively.

Verastem Oncology has reached an agreement with the FDA to proceed with a phase 3 clinical trial for VS-7375, focusing on first-line metastatic PDAC.
