Vercelli hosts major Marc Chagall art exhibition
A major exhibition dedicated to the 20th-century artist Marc Chagall is opening at the Spazio ARCA in the former Church of San Marco in Vercelli. The exhibition, which officially opens to the public on October 13, features 60 works that trace over half a century of his painting career.
Key pieces on display include “Russian Village” (1929), “The Lovers on a Yellow Background,” and the previously unexhibited “The Clown with a Green Face” (circa 1975). The collection explores recurring themes in Chagall’s work, such as love, memory, exile, and the dreamlike quality of flight.
In addition to Chagall’s masterpieces, the exhibition includes works from the Giuseppe Iannaccone Collection, featuring Italian artists from the 1920s to the 1940s, such as Antonietta Raphaël and Scipione. The event is a collaborative effort between the Municipality of Vercelli, Arthemisia, and the Fondazione Giuseppe Iannaccone. Reservations for the exhibition, which runs until March 29, 2027, have already reached nearly 10,000.
