Vercelli province and Crema city start multi‑million euro road improvement projects

The Province of Vercelli has begun a €2.5 million road‑safety program on June 15, covering asphalt resurfacing across its network, the refurbishment of the Elvo river bridge at Carisio, and upgrades to parking areas on the S.P. 93 alternate route. Work will continue in phases through July, with traffic management measures such as alternating one‑way sections.

In Crema, the municipal administration launched an €800 thousand asphalt plan, beginning in the Ombriano district. Initial works include resurfacing several streets at night to minimise disruption, with further night‑time projects scheduled on other key arteries. The scheme is part of a broader strategy that will later include a €1.5 million contract for additional road upgrades.

Both projects aim to enhance road safety, improve traffic flow and upgrade public spaces for residents, commuters and local businesses.
