Verger Holdings to open Tsurugashima direct sales market in August 2026

Verger Holdings has announced the opening of its ninth direct sales market, the Verger Tsurugashima store, scheduled for August 20, 2026. Located within the Kakujo Suirui Tsurugashima store in Saitama Prefecture, the new facility aims to function as a “field theme park” where customers can experience fresh produce and seasonal ingredients.

Founded in 1976, Verger Holdings has grown from a small pickle shop into a major operator of farmers' markets, currently serving over 10,000 customers daily across its nine locations. The company utilizes a hybrid model that combines direct relationships with “natural farmers” and professional market logistics to ensure stable supply and high quality.

The Tsurugashima location will offer a wide variety of products, including vegetables and rice from Saitama and Chiba, highland vegetables from Gunma, and fruits from Nagano and Nagasaki. The store will feature areas for processing and cooking fresh produce on-site, alongside deli items, sweets, and beverages.
