Italian television sees new seasons and major game show updates

Italian television is seeing significant activity across major networks. On Canale 5, the talk show Verissimo returns for a new season hosted by Silvia Toffanin. The upcoming weekend episodes feature a diverse lineup of guests, including actor Riccardo Scamarcio, Fabio Maria Damato discussing the ‘Pandoro gate’ controversy, and Chanel Totti. Sunday's broadcast will also include Ilary Blasi and various commentators for the new season of Grande Fratello Vip.

In the game show genre, La Ruota della Fortuna continues to draw large audiences, highlighted by a major win where 19-year-old medical student Chiara won 409,600 euros and a Fiat 500 Hybrid Cabrio. Meanwhile, Rai 1’s Affari Tuoi, hosted by Stefano De Martino, has moved its production from Rome to Milan to utilize more advanced technical facilities. The show is also reportedly adjusting its format by removing the ‘Contro Pacco’ segment following viewer criticism.

Recent television ratings show a competitive landscape between Rai 1 and Canale 5. While Rai 1 secured victories in prime time with the BYD Music Awards, Canale 5 remains a strong contender in the access prime time slot with La Ruota della Fortuna and Affari Tuoi.
