Veritas completes first African automotive plant in Tangier
American automotive component manufacturer Veritas has completed the construction of its first factory in Africa, located in the Tangier Free Zone in Morocco. The facility specializes in fluid management, cooling, and thermal control systems for internal combustion, hybrid, and electric vehicles.
The plant covers a total area of approximately 5,000 square meters, with 3,835 square meters dedicated to production and specialized extrusion capabilities. This project marks the group’s first ‘Brownfield’ industrial venture since the unification of Veritas and HDT Automotive. The facility will be operated by the Moroccan entity HDT-Veri-Automotive-Morocco.
Production is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2027. The company aims to leverage this location to be closer to automotive manufacturers and Tier 1 suppliers expanding in North Africa. Jawad El Mirraoui, an industry veteran with over 18 years of experience, has been appointed to manage the plant. While the specific investment value and expected job creation numbers have not been disclosed, the expansion brings Veritas’s global industrial network to 13 locations across the US, Germany, China, Canada, Italy, Mexico, Poland, and Morocco.
