Verizon to charge $10 monthly for iPhone Handoff feature

Verizon has announced plans to charge a monthly fee of $10 for the iPhone Handoff feature, a capability introduced in Apple’s iOS 27. The feature allows a single phone number to be shared across two separate iPhones, enabling users to switch active status between a primary device and a companion device while maintaining 5G connectivity.

Verizon confirmed that the service will be compatible with the iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro models. While the feature allows for seamless switching, a single phone number can only be active on one device at a time.

Competitor pricing varies by region and provider. In the United States, T-Mobile offers the feature for $5 per month, while AT&T has indicated no imminent plans to support it. In the United Kingdom, EE will offer the service for free to certain plan holders or for £5 per month. In Germany, Deutsche Telekom provides the feature for €6.95 per month, though it is included at no extra cost in specific high-tier MagentaMobil plans.
