Verizon waives calls, texts, data for Spokane wildfire customers

Verizon Communications is waiving domestic calling, texting and data charges for prepaid and postpaid consumer customers and small‑business customers in Spokane County, Washington, until August 31. Overages are automatically credited and no action is required by customers.

The company is also providing on‑the‑ground support, including charging stations at an American Red Cross shelter, free bottled water, device‑charging stations and Wi‑Fi at two Spokane retail stores, and a Community Disaster Resilience Connectivity Van. Verizon says its network remains strong in the area, with redundant infrastructure, staged mobile cell sites, portable generators and satellite links ready for rapid deployment if needed.
