Vermiglio mountain village sees surge in marriage proposals

The mountain village of Vermiglio in the Trentino region of Italy is experiencing an unexpected surge in marriage proposals, contrasting with national trends showing declining marriage rates. The Chalet al Foss, a five-star adult-only resort located at 1,450 meters near the Presanella Glacier, reported a record month in July 2026 with 60 marriage proposals occurring within 30 days.

Couples traveling from international locations including New York, Tokyo, Seoul, Berlin, and London are visiting the Val di Sole area to seek unique, highly visual settings for their proposals. These staged moments, often involving elaborate scenery such as rose petal pools, are frequently documented on social media, supported by the resort's significant online following.
