Collegiate soccer teams kick off season with diverse results

Various collegiate soccer teams have commenced their seasons with a mix of results across men's and women's divisions.

In women's soccer, Syracuse secured a dramatic 1-0 victory over Northwestern after Abby Incorvaia converted a penalty kick with only 58 seconds remaining in the match. Meanwhile, Stanford defeated Georgetown 2-0, and Yale shut out Vermont 2-0. Columbia women's soccer played to a 1-1 draw against Hofstra.

In men's soccer, Syracuse also found success against UConn, winning 2-1. Boston College opened with a dominant 4-0 shutout against Merrimack. Vermont defeated George Mason 2-0, led by two goals from David Ismail, while UCF's men's team fell 1-0 to UCF in their season opener.
