Vermont and UMass secure collegiate sports victories

In women's ice hockey, the #15 University of Vermont Catamounts defeated Franklin Pierce 2-1 during their first road test of the season. Zoe Charland scored her first career goal in the second period, followed by a game-winning goal from Lauren O'Hara. Although Franklin Pierce scored late in the game during an empty net situation, Vermont maintained the lead to secure the victory.

In women's field hockey, the No. 7 University of Massachusetts Minutewomen earned a 5-0 shutout victory against Appalachian State. UMass remains undefeated in conference play. Goals were scored by Niamh McKenzie, Neva Eisenga, Emily Barret, and Chiara Curcio, with the team maintaining defensive control throughout the match.
