Vermont voters to decide on labor union constitutional amendment

On November 3, Vermont voters will decide on Proposal 3, a constitutional amendment that would formally enshrine the right to form and belong to a labor union within the state constitution. Proponents, including Vermont AFL-CIO President Emeritus David Van Deuson, argue the measure is necessary to protect existing labor rights from future legislative changes and to secure protections for livable wages, healthcare, and housing.

In Benson, officials have noted that general election ballots have been mailed to all active registered voters. To ensure ballots are counted, voters must sign the certification envelope and ensure they are received by 7:00 pm on Election Day. Ballots can be returned via mail, delivered to the Town Clerk’s office, placed in a secure drop box, or brought to the polling place at the Community Hall on Election Day.
