Verónica Barreto named spokesperson for Drago Aguere in La Laguna

Verónica Barreto Amador has been appointed as the new spokesperson for Drago Aguere, the La Laguna territorial unit of the Drago Canarias organization. The decision was made by the organization’s National Secretariat.

Barreto, a 30-year-old nurse, will serve alongside councilors Alberto Rodríguez and Carmen Peña. She has previously been involved in the organization’s institutional work, including community meetings and political strategy development.

As spokesperson, Barreto identified housing access, gentrification, and the loss of local identity in La Laguna as primary political priorities. She expressed concern regarding the erosion of the municipality’s commercial and associative fabric, which she believes threatens the ability of residents to continue living in the city.
