Verónica Castro's family clarifies use of oxygen

Verónica Castro’s recent use of an oxygen tank during public appearances has prompted clarifications from her family regarding her health. Her brother, producer José Alberto “El Güero” Castro, stated that the oxygen use is not permanent and is primarily required during long travels or displacements to assist with respiratory discomfort.

According to José Alberto Castro, the need for oxygen is linked to respiratory issues resulting from years of smoking. He urged the public and media not to spread alarmist versions of her condition, noting that she does not have a terminal illness or a confirmed diagnosis of COPD.

Speculation arose after the actress was seen using a nasal cannula and oxygen tank during her son Cristian Castro’s graduation on August 12. Other reports suggest her health challenges also include complications from a spinal injury and bronchial issues, which have previously required professional supervision.
