Verónica Delgadillo announces 2027 reelection bid in Guadalajara

Guadalajara Mayor Verónica Delgadillo García presented her second government report, highlighting key administrative achievements and announcing her intention to seek reelection in 2027. During the presentation, which was attended by Jalisco Governor Pablo Lemus Navarro, Delgadillo reported an 18.7 percent reduction in crime and the implementation of a community policing strategy reaching over 344,000 residents.

In terms of infrastructure and services, the administration reported intervening in more than 820 streets and investing 5 billion pesos in public works. Additionally, 5.336 billion pesos were allocated to public services, with 2 billion pesos designated for specific actions in eastern Guadalajara. Environmental efforts included planting over 35,000 trees and improving 120 public spaces, including sports units and markets.

Delgadillo also emphasized social programs, noting a 715 million peso investment for vulnerable sectors. Regarding her political future, she expressed a commitment to protecting the progress made in Guadalajara over the last 11 years, stating her responsibility to reflect on the city's needs as the 2027 electoral process approaches.
