Vernon Vipers bolster roster and engage with longtime supporters

The Vernon Vipers are preparing for the 2026–27 BCHL season through both roster developments and community engagement. The team has signed four new players to bolster its lineup: defenseman Cole Ellis, and forwards Mykolas Skadauskas, Van Martin, and Alexander Eklof.

Head coach and general manager Matt Cooke highlighted the additions, noting Ellis’s mobility and physical presence, as well as Skadauskas’s international experience representing Lithuania at the IIHF Division II World Junior Championship tournaments.

In community news, longtime Vipers supporter Jamey Brew was visited by team alumni Bryce Kakoske, David Robinson, and Kevin Kraus. Brew, a dedicated fan of 25 years, maintains a collection of team memorabilia at his Heron Grove care facility cottage. During the visit, Kakoske shared his RBC Cup national championship rings from the team’s 2009 and 2010 victories.
