Vernon Vipers defeat Trail Smoke Eaters 6-0 in BCHL pre-season finale

The Vernon Vipers defeated the Trail Smoke Eaters 6-0 on Saturday, Sept. 12, at Kal Tire Place to conclude their B.C. Hockey League pre-season schedule. The Vipers secured four goals in the second period and two in the final 20 minutes of the game.

Mykolas Skadauskas led the scoring for Vernon with two goals. Other single goals were scored by Luca Pura, Cole Bieksa, Mason Kim, and Ryan Fairbairn, while Van Martin recorded two assists. For the Vipers, Samuel Deblasi made 13 saves before being relieved by Jack Carter, who stopped all seven shots he faced. The Smoke Eaters' goaltending was shared by Kason Kobelka and Chayse Johnson, who combined for 28 saves.

Vernon finished the pre-season with a 1-3 record, while Trail finished 1-2. The BCHL regular season begins Friday, Sept. 18.
