Verón‑Punta Cana's Territorial Plan Advances to Junta de Vocales Decision

After weeks of debate, protests and technical reviews, the Municipal Territorial Plan (PMOT) for Verón‑Punta Cana has entered its most critical stage: public discussion and eventual approval by the local Junta de Vocales. The board must weigh community concerns, business interests and political pressures while ensuring compliance with Law 368‑22, which requires citizen participation through public hearings and consultations.

District director Ramón Ramírez assured residents that the plan will not harm any sector, emphasizing that the POT aims to guide sustainable urban growth, improve services and balance development. He announced that the Junta will hold public hearings and working tables where community leaders, entrepreneurs and citizens can submit observations before a final ordinance is issued.
