Verona hosts presentation of South Korean smart mobility research

Researchers from South Korea have presented the results of a study aimed at improving smart city mobility in Verona, Italy. The project was conducted under the 2025/2026 Knowledge Sharing Program (KSP), a technical cooperation initiative by the Republic of Korea designed to share expertise in urban development and intelligent infrastructure with partner administrations.

Following the installation of smart sensors at four signalized intersections between 2024 and 2025, the nine-month study involved analyzing Verona’s current mobility situation, comparing Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) and Cooperative ITS (C-ITS) technologies with Korean best practices, and developing proposals to enhance the city's transport system. Local officials noted that the collaboration aims to innovate road safety, cycling, and public transport efficiency through technological integration.
