Verona man accused of killing wife with insulin
Nadir Rossi, a 35-year-old former nurse, has been arrested and charged with the premeditated murder of his wife, Jessica Dalla Chiara, in Bussolengo. During a recent interrogation in Verona, Rossi exercised his right to remain silent. A request from his legal team for house arrest to be near his four-year-old daughter was denied by a judge.
The investigation began following reports from the Verona Integrated University Hospital regarding post-mortem laboratory results. These findings indicated that the victim's severe and repeated episodes of hypoglycemia were not natural, but were caused by non-therapeutic insulin administrations from an external source.
Investigators believe Rossi used his professional medical expertise to deceive his wife. Evidence suggests a prior attempt occurred on May 22, 2024, when the victim suffered a cardiac arrest due to an insulin injection that induced a pharmacological coma. The victim was found dead in their home on the night of June 24, 2024.
