The 32‑metre Corten‑steel bridge at Ponte al Pino in Florence has been installed, ending an 84‑hour line closure. The 550‑tonne steel structure was lifted into place by a 2,000‑tonne crane, one of the largest lifts used for such infrastructure in Europe. After the work, the railway lines Florence Campo di Marte–Firenze Rifredi and Florence Campo di Marte–Firenze Santa Maria Novella resumed service at 11:00, with the first Frecciarossa from Foggia to Milan passing through shortly thereafter.

Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI) confirmed the project stayed on schedule and will be handed over to the municipality of Florence. Load‑testing is planned for mid‑September before the bridge is fully opened to traffic. The new bridge, 16 metres wide, includes pedestrian sidewalks and a bike lane, improving safety and urban mobility.
